Pick A Path

It was a clear and crisp night. Zaeeda skipped joyfully through the park. She noticed leaves rustling all around her. Could certain danger be hiding within the trees? Thought Zaeeda.

A cold shiver ran down her shoulder the wind started whistling. Zaeeda stopped skipping for a few seconds and scratched her elbow nervously thinking that someone was watching. She saw a shadow rushing towards her. She picked up the nearest branch to smack any danger away. She was about to run away but she stayed brave and waited. The shadow grew closer and closer until Zaeeda dropped the branch it stumbled onto the ground. Zaeeda ran toward the person because she was yelling Zaeeda Zaeeda and she recognized the voice anywhere it’s her bestest friend in the whole wide world, Amira.

First thing she told Amira was not to do that again because she could’ve gotten hurt. The second thing Zaeeda told her was ’’why are you here aren’t you supposed  to be at home or at least doing you homework’’. Then Amira said ’’I have already done homework and tomorrow is Saturday’’. They talked while they walked home and Amira asked Zaeeda if she could stay for supper Zaeeda said ’’sure’’ as long as your mum does’nt start looking for you’’.

After supper Amira went back home her house which was just a few blocks away. Zaeeda went to bed but Zaeeda kept twisting and turning she couldn't sleep. She was getting the feeling that someone or something was in the house. She got up picked up her torch and walk to the living room to check if anyone or anything was there. Then she heard a noise it sounded like a something was eating some food. She went into the kitchen to reveal what was in the house and it was a raccoon.

The raccoon looked really hungry so Zaeeda got it some rubbish for it to eat and a tiny bit of water to drink.  Then Zaeeda went inside and went back to sleep.

Since that day Zaeeda looked after the raccoons by taking care of them.

Today it was boiling hot so me and my sisters ate some Ice-cream. While we  ate Ice-cream I came up with a poem it goes like this.

Let's Go Eels

On a windy Wednesday last week 20 pavilions kids went to a creek, called Oamaru creek we looked at the pollution in the creek we didn’t see any eels, which told us that our creek wasn’t healthy. We saw chip packs and sandwich wraps all around the creek and in the creek too. We followed the creek to a clearing that went into a river. Miss King took a picture of us standing by the creek.

Then with happy expressions on our face we went to Tusitala and waited for Robin. While we were waiting Miss King told us some rules and gave us some eel picture to colour. Miss king also read us the book called let’s go eels. We listened to Miss King tell us that when the male eels turn twenty five they travel to the fiji basins let go of their eggs and die. But, the female eels go and let go of their eggs when the turn 30 or 33. When she finished

After we had finished one round of the game Robin arrived at the tusitala and we listened to robin do her mihi then we did some greetings from around the universe. We did Thailand and G.I  and lots of other countries. After that we were put into groups of four, the people in my group Josh, Sonnia AJ and me. Robin gave us some creature feature cards to match with the tiny creatures. Once we match them up Robin gave us some florist explorers to matched. When we finished matching the cards we played a game called who am I, Who am I is a game that involves you holding a card above your head and then
you have to guess what creature is on the card while your partner's give you clues of what you are. The bell rang and it was time for morning tea.

After morning tea the 20 people met at Tusitala and we went to the hall a the hall we saw a parachute and we got to go under it and on top. Then we had to scare a stote away the stote eats every things including eels so we  gather all around her and she got  so scared and ran away. The last thing we did was rescuing an eel from under a supermarket trolley. We also wrote a headline for a newspaper our group’s headline was school students saved a eel from under a random supermarket trolley.   Soon the bell for lunch rang and we went to class and had lunch.

Comparing the Olympics

In the pavilion we made movies to compare the difference in the modern and ancient Olympics.

For reading me and Amira made a fencing movie with two girls who's dream it was to go to the Olympics.

The Lost Olympic Gold Medal

Hi i’m a gold medal and I’m going to like my new home if it stays like this, all the time. Maybe I will be taken to a school to be shown off or maybe even put in a museum. I will soon find out.

One week later……

I thought i’d be loved forever but I got given to a baby as a toy. The baby played with me as a steering wheel for a car. When she finally got bored of she took care of me and by that I mean I got flushed down the toilet when I fell asleep. When I woke up I saw that I was in the sewers.

While I was down in the sewers keeped saying to myself what could be more interesting than an Olympic gold medal. Soon I got emotional and started crying and sulking about living in the sewers for eternity. After an hour or something I stopped crying I looked for a place to rest myself I found an empty tin can top sleep in so that's what I did.

Once a had awakened from my sleep I lay there in the sewers when OH NO where am I before I could finish a gush of water had, made me end up in a toilet seat one of the toilets had clogged up because of a toilet roll.

Two hours later……

I was still in the toilet seat. Suddenly, the door opened out of nowhere the baby crawled in I said in my head what would she want she has already caused enough trouble today. She Gently lifted me from the seat Joy Joy ! I whispered at last I will be freed from the toilet even though I was relieved I was a little disgusted to, I mean I was dripping wet with sewer water anyways she took me to the tap gave me a scrub with warm water and dried me in the shower curtain.

Then took off for the playroom . The next thing I knew was at a tea party with mr potato head. Well at least i’m happy and taken cared of now by the baby.

                                        The end

Decimals to Fractions

we learnt about how we can see fraction decimals.

Pierre de Coubertin

After a gap of hundreds of years the Olympics returned to Athens in 1896. The reason behind the recreation of the Olympics was because of one man Pierre de Coubertin. He admired the Greek ideals of fitness and sporting competitiveness, amongst different communities and he hoped that modern Olympics would bring countries closer together.
