Learning about Dinosaurs at the  Museum

On our trip to the museum we turned into paleontologists. There were three groups 1 2 & 3. I was in group 3. Paleontologists are people that go around the world and find fossils underground paleontologists have to be careful with the bones they find.the bone are all way carefully placed in together in the museum.We learn about a carnivore. The Carnivore we learnt about was the Tyrannosaurus Rex. We learnt how big it's mouth is and how big it's skull is. All the groups have a head paleontologists in each group.

In the group I was in, Isaiah was the head paleontologists. We studied a Tyrannosaurus rex tooth at the end. We got up and told the class about the tooth we also told what they used their teeth for they used their teeth for crushing bone and killing the dinosaurs. Room 15 also learnt about a herbivore it was a called triceratops we had a new head paleontologists that was me. My group studied a triceratops horn and skin. We also learnt how big the triceratops was.

In the beginning we were also did something it was that we played a game called fossil or not. We had three contestants Chance, Bitner and Delijah there were stuff the they had to press if they want to answer a question they needed a buzzer. It was a chicken sheep and duck . Chicken won the game. It was a very funny game it made my stomach hurt.

Manaiakalani film festival

On Wednesday our whole class went on an adventure to Sylvia park.Pt England school went in buses exept the presenters. There were 12 different schools that went to the film festival our school was lucky so we went through in the morning. On the bus we sang funny songs. The presenters went early so they could practice their lines in the theatres so they don't get nervous and stage fright in front of the whole school. All the presenters got to sit in the front seats the year 1 and 2 had to go with a senior kid at pt england school so they don't get lost at Sylvia Park.If they do the year one or year 2 will have to look for a teacher from Pt England school. In bus there were fans, curtains and lights. There were lots of cool stuff in the first bus but in the second bus it was noise and shaking when it moved.

When we walked into the theatre we saw a huge swarm of chairs. The chairs felt like big red marshmallows. The screen  was enormous! And was as bright as the sun on a sunny day. The screen was the size of an adult brachiosaurus. It was really dark when the whole school quietly walked into the theatre. At the top there were lamps and couches. When we all sat down the theatre was filled with chatter.

We watched movies made by our school on the big screen. The movie I liked the best was Manaiakalani Man because it was funny when he laughed. It was also funny when they opened the Control room and it made a sound like this laaaa before they walked into the room. I also liked it when they used a mask for Arney. That's why I liked Manaiakalani man. What's your favourite movie?

Today was the best day of my life. The New Zealand navy band came to play at Pt England school.

Chormebooks

Wow! What an exciting afternoon I had yesterday. Room 15 went to Mr Moran class to learn about chromebooks. When we were there we got a year 4 buddy to help us. My buddy’s name was Amelia Mr Moran told the year 4 students to get their Chromebooks.At the Pavillon we had lots of noise at the year 4 class and there were lots of kids.

With my buddy I we both listened to a YouTube interesting facts about dinosaurs. After we did the first slide I had a go doing it myself it was lots of fun. Then dinosaur rap was so cool. Amelia taught me how to screenshot.Amelia also taught me how to upload a picture.We finished our work so  we played.

  favourite part was when Amelia and I listened to the dinosaur rap. It was cool. I loved Amelia helping me because she is nice and helpful. I loved going to the Pavilion. 

P.E.

This Term everyday after maths team 3 have P.E. Sometimes we see Miss Vaafusuaga,sets up the equipment . When Miss Vaafusuaga is setting up the stuff we take a look of what we are doing. Some of the things are cones,balls,hoops and cricket bats they are all sports equipment.

The games we played are rob the nest,rounders,cricket,overarm and under arm throwing. We had  a game that we practiced throwing seven things the seven stuff we throw was a wooden ball, sock ball,gumboot and a base ball. They all involved running catching and throwing. When we are doing our games there are lots and lots of sweating.There were lots of organising.

My favourite game was rob the nest. I like rob the nest because you can take the other groups balls without out getting in trouble and that is fun.What I really like P.E because it's fun and you can get class points which is fun. When you get to go to your game you might not like the look of it  but once you start playing it you actually will have fun.

My best day in the holiday

Wow ! what an exciting day I on Friday the 9th October because I went to my cousin's house. It was my nephew's birthday. It was a long way but still in Auckland. We went past Panmure and Sylvia park and Glen Innes.

The best thing that happened was that I danced with my mum. My mum was dancing hard out by the disco lights.  The other people were sitting on chair and being shy. Another best thing was that there was a great big cake that  was a castle.

I went to the birthday party with my mum, sisters and dad. At the party my cousins came and lots of people from my dad's family came. It really was crowded in the house and really fun.

Politicians

If you want to be a politician you have to work very hard. Another way to become politician is you can shake signs on the side of the road. It is a bit embarrassing and sometimes people say bo bo and some say yay. Do you want to get elected? You have to have a lot of people vote for you. When you are trying to get votes, you have to pamphlets and knock on doors. Politicians are brainy so you have to be brainy.  You also can ask people politely to vote for you. I can tell you one thing you should never give up on yourself.

Politicians work in both Wellington and their local electorate. Politicians go to parliament which is in Wellington, there are 120 chairs and they have a big argument. The argument starts by one of the people that disagree with the laws and someone that does agree with the laws. Politicians wake up at the time about at 4am and they go back to bed at 10.30 pm. Politicians collect taxes from your parents. Then the politicians give money to the hospitals, school and retired people. Politicians work with Jon Key.

Firefighter David

If you want to be a firefighter you have to fill out a long form and all kinds of tests. There are some physical test you have to do like rescuing a dummy with a tank on your back.well another way to become a firefighter is you have to be brave and strong. To be a firefighter you need to be able to  carry 18kg . Do you want to Be a firefighter then start training then you need to call the fire station for the long form.

Firefighters respond to emergency calls in a variety of ways. Firefighters help save harmless animals from danger. Firefighters also put out fire from building that are on fire. Firefighters help people that can't get out of there car. Firefighters help people that faint  well during a fire.

Fire Trucks  are like a moving tool box. Fire engine have tool like gas mask,heavy oxygen tank, first aide kit , ladder and a long hose. Fire trucks also have pick-axes for an emergency. A fire engine carries  something very important firefighter. Fire engines have sirens on the top which are very loud.

One day I might become a firefighter because they save people. I also want to be a firefighter because they are very cool and they help people and take any risk. I want to be a firefighter because firefighters are very very respectful . I can also be a firefighter because I am not afraid and I don't back out.

Kojo is a hardworking boy from Ghana who is very poor. When Kojo. Kojo had to sell firewood to make money. Now that Kojo's father passed away Kojo had to quit school too.

When Kojo's mother receives a loan from some village families she gives some money to her son Kojo. He is a sensible boy so he bought a hen. Kojo had to have two eggs one for Kojo and one for his mother. Kojo started selling some eggs to raise money.

Kojo sells his eggs at the market to buy more hens. Kojo studies school for six months . When Kojo gets an ideas to buy a chicken farm he went to the bank to  ask for a loan to buy a chicken farm. When Kojo got his chicken farm he started buying more hens.

Kojo soon grew up to be a wealthy man. When Kojo had grandchildren they helped him pick the eggs for he was an old man then Kojo was a very helpful man and he lived happily ever after.  The End

Robin Hood

Long long ago there lived an outlaw. His name was Robin Hood. He lived in Sherwood Forest in Nottingham with his outlaw friends. Whenever danger came past one of the outlaws gave a signal until the danger had past .

In Sherwood Forest the outlaws made themselves a home where they practise their archery .       Robin Hood was the best at archery. Robin Hood was the best at archery. Robin Hood helped his friends with their archery too.

One day the sheriff decided they were going to hold an archery contest. All the archery people will be there including Robin Hood. On the day of the competition Robin Hood disgusted himself like a simple peasant then he went to get his strongest bow and arrow. After that he went off to the contest .

At  the competition Robin Hood put on his hoodie and grabbed his bow and arrow. When the on the day contest started Robin Hood got his strongest arrow and placed his finest arrow and fired the arrow. It went faster than wind and hit the  target in the middle. When it was the finalists it was Robin Hood and a soldier. The soldier fired three times and it didn't hit the middle and when Robin Hood fired and it did hit the middle.

Robin Hood won the trophy and just when he was about to get the trophy the sheriff's men came after him. So Robin Hood grabbed the trophy made a run for it and he got back to the forest where the other outlaws we're waiting for him. When Robin Hood got back he showed his trophy to the other outlaws.

Cinderella

Once upon a time there lived a rich man. He had a beautiful daughter, her name was Ella. One day Ella 's mother died. Ella was heartbroken. After a few days Ella's father decided to get married again. When Ella's new family moved in Ella's father went to explore the world. Ella's stepmother was not kind, she was mean and  horrid. She bought her daughters with her.

Ella was forced to do  all the work in the house . The hard thing for Ella was that once she finished something, there was another job waiting for her .

In the evening  Ella would sit by the cinders and ashes  to rest and keep warm. Whenever the sister saw her they said, they were going to call her Cinderella because she was always by the cinders and ashes .

One day when Cinderella went to get the mail she saw an invitation. When the sister saw Cinderella reading the invitation they took it off her and  gave it to there mother. After they took it to their mother she started reading  the invitation to herself. The mother read the invitation. The stepsisters started jumping up and down. They said Cinderella could make them a new dress. One of the sisters said she heard the prince is looking for  a wife .

On the night of the grand ball Cinderella helped her stepsisters get dressed. The stepsister and stepmother left for the palace. Cinderella went back to the cinders and ashes.

When Cinderella sat by the cinders and ashes slowly tears fell down her cheeks. Suddenly a kind looking woman appeared. The kind looking woman was Cinderella's fairy god mother. She went into the garden and tapped a enormous pumpkin and immediately it turned into a  beautiful coach and six grey mice turned into  six grey horses to pull the coach. But there was  one more problem left Cinderella didn't have anything to wear to the ball. So Cinderella 's fairy God tapped her on the shoulder and soon Cinderella was wearing the most beautiful gown in the land . But Cinderella's fairy god mother  told her that she had to be back at midnight.

So Cinderella was on her way to the ball . When Cinderella walked into the ball all the woman and gentlemen were stunned by Cinderella's beauty. When Cinderella got to the bottom of the steps the prince came and took her hand. The music began and Cinderella and the prince danced all night the stepmother and stepsister stayed in the side wondering who the beautiful woman was.  

Cinderella was having such a great time that she lost track of time, soon the chimes for midnight rang and Cinderella ran out of the palace. As she was running she lost her dainty glass slipper. The prince said that tomorrow we  will travel the land and look for the woman who fit the slipper .

The very next day the prince and his servants set off to find the woman who fit  the slipper.

When the prince and the servant  came to Cinderella's house Cinderella got locked in her room. But there was little mice who stole the key from the Stepmother and got Cinderella out while the sisters and  her mother tried to force their big feet inside the little slipper. When Cinderella got out of her room she asked if she could try the slipper and the sisters burst out with laughter. The servant went to Cinderella. But as he was  walking to Cinderella he tripped and fell and the glass slipper broke into the thousands of pieces.

Cinderella slowly took  out the other glass slipper and said maybe this can help. So when she sat down to try it on, well it was the perfect fit . The servants took her to the palace  where the prince was waiting. When she got there the prince asked her to marry him and they lived happily ever after.

  I made this movie with my friends in year 3 extension.

The first thing we did was to write new words to Taylor Swift's song - Style.  Then we had to record ourselves singing. Finally we were able to make our very own MTV.

Maui And The Ra

A long time ago before the Ra went slowly Maui and his brothers had a problem. They did not have time to fish, hunt or eat their yummy lunch.

One day Maui got an idea. He and his brothers were going to make some strong  flax  ropes so they could catch the enormous burning yellow Ra.

When Maui told his brothers they squealed in laughter. He said to his brothers, “We can make the sun go slower.” and they all agreed.

Maui and his brothers started looking for the enormous yellow ra. At last they found the hole where  the sun came up . Maui and his brothers put the ropes over the hole and hid again.

Maui told his brothers that when he yelled now they should jump out and grab the ropes to pull the burning sun.

When the ra rose over the seas and mountain Maui yelled “Now!” and the brothers jumped out and grabbed the ropes and pulled the yellow ra.

While the brothers were pulling the sun Maui beat Ra. As the big enormous yellow ra said “Stop! Stop!” Maui told his brothers “Let go now we have plenty of time to do what we  want to do all in the light of the sun.”

Extreme weather has rushed into Auckland. We will be receiving showers all over Auckland. We might have sunny spells. But until then we can get our umbrellas up and our raincoats and gum boots on. Rainy days and howling nights. There will be whistling wind and rattling trees, be careful Auckland. Horrible rain spells can hit Auckland any time stay inside and dry. Hail , rain, lightning and thunder storms Has been coming back for winter.

The duchess has gave birth to a baby girl, her name is Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. The duchess has been saved by God .The baby was born in St Mary's hospital at 8.34am on Saturday.

After the princess was born they went to Kensington palace. The Princess is fourth in line for the throne. The baby is three days old . She was exhausted.

Hokulae landed

Pt England saw the hokulea waka come to land at Aotearoa . The waka names were hokulea hikianalia . The sky was happy and the clouds were stormy and sad. The sun was shining.the waka was full of Hawaiians. At the end of the greeting and singing we high-fived the hawaiian people. Mr Burt was very very proud of us.

The School Picnic

On last Friday my whole school went to Pt England Reserve. Then we waited for Mr Burt to tell us the boundaries that we can go in and the boundaries we can't go in. My mum had come to the picnic so I decided stay with my mum. The picnic was amazing because there was just the right amount of adults and just the right amount of kids. My little sister play with the year one kids. Me, Rozaidah and Alisha played pass with the ball we found. I had two sandwiches and a fizzy drink. It had gotten really hot, so we moved over to the big tree we found. We played on the play ground, we also played tag. I was hungry so we went home.
